• What does a ticket cost?

  A single ticket from Vienna to the airport or from the airport to Vienna costs € 8.- for adults. The return journey is available for € 13.-.
  The Vienna Airport Lines offer numerous discounts.

• What ticket reductions are available?

  Children up to 6 years of age travel free of charge in combination with an accompanying person.

  Children from 6 to 14 years as well as people with more than 70% disability, holders of the ÖBB Österreichcard or Vorteilscard Senior, holders of the ÖBB Österreichcard or Vorteilscard Family, if travelling together with a child and ÖBB employees travel for half price (€ 4.- for a one-way ticket and € 8.- for a return ticket).

  Cooperation partners such as Austrian Airlines (with proof of boarding pass), PeoplesViennaLine, but also holders of the "Vienna City Card", of the ÖBB Österreichcard or Vorteilscard Classic, Youth and Vorteilscard 66 benefit from the reduced price (€ 7.- for a one-way ticket or € 12.- for a return journey). Holders of the Österreichcard or Vorteilscard Family travelling without children can also obtain the reduced ticket price.

• Do I need identification to qualify for a discount?

  Yes. You will need to have the appropriate entitlement card, or photo ID confirming your age, depending on the discount you wish to claim.

• Where can I find out more about my passenger rights?

• Do I have to bring a printed copy of my online ticket?

  No. The QR code of your ticket can be read directly from the screen of your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) by the bus driver.

• Can I reserve a seat?

  It’s not possible to reserve a seat with Vienna Airport Lines. As a rule, sufficient seating capacity will be available.

• Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

  A transfer is not possible in the case of online tickets. This is because the name on the ticket has to be the same as the name of the person travelling. It is not possible to change the name.

  Tickets bought at ticket machines, however, can be transferred to third parties within the period of validity.

• Where can I buy a ticket?

  You can buy tickets for one-way or return journeys as followed:

  • at viennaairportlines.at
  • at the Vienna Airport Lines ticket vending machines directly at Vienna Airport and at Westbahnhof station
  • directly from the drivers of the Vienna Airport Lines buses or
  • at our sales partners (e.g.Tourist-Info at Vienna Airport, People's Air Group [People's Holding AG], travel agencies of Mondial GmbH & Co. KG in Vienna, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Zell am See, Baden, Prague, Budapest and Barcelona).

  Season tickets can be bought directly from our drivers or by using Vienna Airport Lines ticket machines.

• How long is my ticket valid for?
  • Online tickets of Vienna Airport Lines are valid for the day of travel selected and the following day.
  • Tickets for a one-way journey bought on the bus are only valid for a journey taken immediately.
  • Tickets for one-way journeys bought at ticket machines are valid for two days from the time you buy them.
  • If you have a return ticket, you can make your return journey anything up to 30 days after you buy the ticket.
  • Please note tickets bought via sales partners may be subject to other validity conditions. Our sales partners will be happy to explain these to you in each individual case.
• What payment options are available to me?

  If you buy a ticket online, we offer the option of paying by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express Card). For online payments you can also use eps-transfer (for Austrian bank accounts) or giropay (for German bank accounts).

  If you purchase a ticket on the bus itself or at the ticket machines, cash, credit card and cashpoint card payments are accepted.

• Why do I have to enter a 3D Secure when making an online payment?

  The 3D Secure procedure authenticates the holder of the credit card by requiring them to enter an additional password, helping to make your credit card payment on the internet even safer. Depending on the credit card you use, this security procedure will be called "Verified by Visa" or "Mastercard SecureCode".

• How do I get a 3D Secure Password?

  If you haven’t registered for the 3D Secure procedure yet, then a dialogue window from your credit card provider will appear enabling you to do so the first time. Please note some banks will send your registration code by post. If you have any questions regarding the 3D Secure procedure, or you don’t yet know your password, please contact your credit card provider directly.

• What name should I enter when making an online booking?

  The name on the ticket must be the same as the name of the person travelling (i.e. the person actually making the journey).

• Is the climate ticket valid?

  No, the climate ticket is not recognized on the Vienna Airport Lines. The Vienna Airport Lines are private lines operated by Österreichische Postbus AG.

• Is the "Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region - the transport association for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland" annual ticket valid on the Vienna Airport Lines?

  Until further notice, the VOR annual ticket is recognized on the VAL 2 line if the passenger presents this annual ticket to the Vienna Airport Lines driver without being asked.

  The VOR annual pass must include:

  • FROM: Vienna
  • TO: Flughafen Wien inkl. Wien Kernzone OR Fischamend inkl. Wien Kernzone

  The VOR annual ticket with these destinations is only valid on the VAL 2 line, with the exception of morning services: 

  • From the stop “Flughafen Wien Busterminal” to the stop “Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz” at 04:15 a.m. and 04:45 a.m.
  • From the stop “Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz” to the stop “Flughafen Wien Busterminal” at 03:30 a.m., 04:00 a.m. and 04:30 a.m.
